1. Electroformed Handmade Real Canadian Maple Leaf Necklace
Here is a Canadian artists based in Calgary, Alberta who hand picks gorgeous, real maple leaves and electroforms them into the most stunning Canadian jewelry.
Here is what artist Tara has to say about these amazing designs:
The quintessential maple leaf, this is a sugar maple, (otherwise known as a Canadian maple). This tree is native to the hardwood forests of eastern Canada. Its sugary sap is known worldwide as maple syrup, which was an important part of the diet of native americans. The national symbol of Canada, the Canadian maple is a symbol of wisdom, connection and unity.
In their own words, here is how the process happens:
Each real leaf is hand selected and then covered in copper through a process called electroforming. The pendant is then polished and specially patina’ed to create a unique pendant that is 100% hand made by me.

This Canadian artist, based in Revelstoke, British Columbia, captures the essence of the northern aurora through color in her Labradorite stone collection.

The stone in this necklace is known as Labradorite. The healing properties of this crystal are all about tapping into your own wonderful well of creativity and connecting with the higher consciousness. A bounty of blues, greens, fiery golds, and smoky hues can be found shimmering on the surface Labradorite. It's a reminder that the greatest healing stones are often connected with all of the elements - the ground beneath your feet, the surging ocean and stretch out sky, and the stars above.
Aurora jewelry is very popular and there are a few artists who beautifully capture the northern lights. I personally used to live in the Canadian sub arctic and spent many nights in awe of the dancing aurora. Another design by Julie whose shop is based in Montreal, we really liked this simple, sweet design.

The Interlaced Cedars bracelet is cast from a cedar leaf. I created a silicone mould of the cedar to capture all its wonderful details, and cast it using the lost wax technique. It is cut, soldered and polished by hand.
10. Real Ammolite Bracelet
Ammolite is one of the most beautiful gems you can find. The colors in it are the most brilliant yellows, reds, blues and greens and sometimes even with shades or purples that you will ever see, and it is mostly found in Alberta, making it a true, rare Canadian gemstone.
Why get a diamond when you can get a rare, gorgeous Ammolite?
Here is a bit about Ammolite:
Ammolite is an opal-like organic gemstone found primarily along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains of North America. It is made of the fossilized shells of ammonites, which in turn are composed primarily of aragonite, the same mineral contained in nacre, with a microstructure inherited from the shell.
It is one of few biogenic gemstones; others include amber and pearl. In 1981, Ammolite was given official gemstone status by the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), the same year commercial mining of Ammolite began.
There are a variety of Ammolite collections in this shop, based in Calgary, Alberta. The colors you get will depend on the Ammolite itself, as the colors are 100% natural.
